Save the Nambucca River Community Day

OzGREEN embarked on a waster testing day, training up locals from the Save the Nambucca River Group and testing many spots along the Nambucca catchment. A field day was then held to share these results with the local community and to raise awareness about the health of the Nambucca River.

Key activities included :
Reporting water testing results to the community.
Local community radio station Nambucca Valley Radio 2NVR 105.9FM ran interviews with interested locals about their concerns for the health of the river.
Local Gumbaynggirr men Micklo Jarrett and Uncle Buddy Marshall supported the endeavour with storytelling of indigenous yarns about the significance of the river and their experiences living by the river.
Micklo Jarrett led the visitors in a cultural river song in the Gumbaynggirr language.
