Help reduce

waste at the NRL

We reduce waste at major events and inspire communities to change their habits.

What is rethink waste?

We reduce waste at major events and inspire communities to change their habits.

rethink waste is a waste education community project that partners with major events to reduce waste and raise awareness.

Our volunteers help direct event patrons to sort their waste at the event, redirecting waste away from landfill, and inspiring their community to change their habits.

  • "I was super impressed with the 3 bin system and the people volunteering at the stations."

    - Thrive Festival attendee

  • "As market organiser, I am always keen to find ways of making sure the market is as environmentally friendly as possible. I am looking forward to have OzGreen come along and help the stallholders and customers rethink the way they dispose of their waste, and hopefully they can take this message home with them."

We also help Event Managers reduce waste

Let the Rethink Waste team help you reduce waste at your event!

Event holders face big challenges with waste. It can be expensive to process and difficult to sort, with all waste often sent to landfill at the end of an event.

Our team consults with event managers and works with your food vendors and event goers to develop systems to sort, educate people, and then collect and reduce waste.

We work in four ways :

  • Our team of expert waste education staff and volunteers monitors, separates and conducts in-event education for event goers, to reduce food waste at your event.

  • We work with event managers and stall holders so that everyone is equipped with the knowledge and skills to reduce waste at your event.

This includes educating food vendors about the new NSW laws regarding the ban of single use plastics and compostable packaging options.

  • We run workshops at your event for event patrons to showcase some easy ways they can help to reduce waste, including interactive composting demonstrations, plastic-free product demonstrations and giveaways!

We also educate patrons about NSW’s single-use plastic laws at our in-event workshops.

  • We will promote your event and your commitment to help reduce waste at your event through our social networks.
