'5 Things' Resilience Workshops

June 2023 | Kyogle and Evans Head, NSW, Australia

We brought communities together to share practical and achievable disaster preparedness actions.

  • "Really got me thinking about what we need to do before a disaster happens. Action starts now, from preparing a list of necessary items in an emergency, to growing your own food and sharing experiences with your community."

    - Community member

  • "The OzGREEN Resilient Communities program has helped me to feel more connected and more self confident. I am involved with other projects to prepare our community for climate change and I am leading projects myself. I think it’s sad that it's finished, Kyogle needs more ongoing assistance."

    - Aunty Kali, Guillibul Elder

  • "Great information sharing sponsoring community spirit "

    - Community member

  • "This workshop was so amazing and loved how everyone contributed and we all learnt from each other. "

    - Community member

  • “I found the Ozgreen Resilient Communities a valuable project on many levels. It taught me a useful framework for clarifying my concerns about the environment and community resilience, and translating those concerns into tangible actions, which is very empowering."

    - Bridget

  • "Great cooking demonstration of how simple it is to use things grown in your own backyard. Group activity was fun and made me think about things I really need in an emergency/disaster event."
