Kaleb Ross
Youth Activities Coordinator
Kaleb joined OzGREEN in May 2023 as a Youth Activities Coordinator. After being involved in numerous OzGREEN programs, he has stepped into the Riparian Program and Mid North Coast Bushwalks Coordinator roles with Bellingen Riverwatch.
As a youth activities coordinator, Kaleb dedicates himself to empowering young minds and fostering their love for the environment. Through engaging and thought-provoking activities, he strives to instill a sense of responsibility and activism in the youth, encouraging them to play an active role in shaping a sustainable future.
In addition to his work with young people, Kaleb serves as a riparian program coordinator, where he takes on the critical task of preserving and restoring the delicate ecosystems along waterways. Collaborating with local communities, organizations, and volunteers, he implements sustainable strategies to protect riparian zones and promote the health of aquatic habitats.
When not coordinating youth activities or riparian programs, Kaleb assumes the role of a bush walks coordinator, leading individuals and groups through awe-inspiring natural landscapes. Through these experiences, he seeks to kindle a profound connection with nature, fostering appreciation and respect for the wilderness.
Kaleb's journey has shown him the transformative power of education, hands-on experiences, and community involvement in environmental conservation. His diverse roles within OzGREEN allow him to synergise his expertise and amplify his impact, empowering people of all ages to become enthusiastic stewards of the environment.
βThis role is indescribable, my family still donβt really understand what my job is, but they know I love it and am making a difference.
I'm organising a variety of community events such as tree-planting festivals, sustainability workshops, citizen science open days, ecologist bushwalks and other nature connection events. I feel so inspired working with the community, and being part of a team of really passionate driven people with aligned values.
Working on a range of programs that have tangible positive outcomes has made me think deeper about my role in life and the impact I have not just on my friends and family, but the community and environment. Being involved in a diverse range of events has inspired me to dream bigger and work harder on my own creative pursuits.
Working at OzGREEN has shown me that anyone can make a difference, and even the smallest idea can have a significant impact.β
