Landscape Preparedness Days

We explored community concerns around landscape management, developed action plans, connected community members and engaged Bundjalung and Gullible Elders to teach people about First Nations land management practices.

Local community leaders including First Nations people led educational activities for the community.
First Nations people shared their knowledge of the local landscape with the broader community.
Participants learnt a variety of Indigenous fire management techniques as part of a Cultural Burning Workshop lead by First Nations leaders.
Participants learnt about river health and how to monitor water quality following a disaster.
Participants learnt about the importance of composting and soil health.
Participants expressed their local environmental concerns, created a vision for the future and developed action plans to take forward.
